Agatti is the only island with the airport. Sightseeing in Agatti : Golden Jetty Museum : At the northern side of the island is the Golden Jetty Museum, the only one of its kind in the Lakshadweep. It is a two storey museum, which is still in process of getting its collections together. It houses the intricate model of a traditional Minicoy jagdhoni (sailboat) and a room full of jars, pots, platters and wooden chest recovered from the various islands. The main attraction of the museum are the gold coins found in the graveyard near the Jama Masjid in Agatti. The museum remains open from 10 am to 5 pm on all days. Mohiyudeen Mosque : Make a visit to one of the oldest mosques on the island, the 16th century Mohiyudeen mosque. The mosque is situated in the groove of palms, surrounded by intricately carved tombstones. A stone panel with Arabic lettering decorates its front cornice. It also boosts of a large tank and a well. Kalpitty Island : On the excursion trip from Agatti, tourists can make a visit to Kalpitty island (meaning stony island). It is ideal spot for picnic as well as diving and snorkeling.
